A small startup in the banking sector 2Gether has created a new debit card with VISA support, which is suitable for payments using seven cryptocurrencies.
Supported digital currencies include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), EOS, Stellar (XLM) and Litecoin (LTC).
Of course, this is not the first solution of its kind. Earlier, similar cards were introduced to the market, including Wirex and the famous Coinbase card.
2Gether will be accepted in all stores equipped with PoS, and on sites that accept VISA cards. At the same time the service will not charge increased margins.
VISA debit card 2Gether allows you to make payments using Bitcoins, EOS, Stellar, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies, as well as from an account in euros.
At the time of payment, digital currencies are instantly converted into fiat currency, and the card can be used in all 19 eurozone countries.
The company said that the debit card is designed to simplify the use of cryptocurrency in the retail world, and a special smartphone application makes it easy to buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, EOS and other supported cryptocurrencies. Transactions within the system will be free.
The 2Gether application is already available for download in the Google Play Store and the Apple Store. It is currently available in Spanish and English only. At the moment it is also unclear whether the mobile application will work as a real wallet or not.
Cryptocurrencies will likely be stored in a virtual account, which means that the user will not have access to private keys.
The service was launched in April, when the company began to pre-sell its 2GT token to customers who passed the KYC procedure.
To create an account and apply for a card, you need to purchase 2GT for at least £ 10.
