The American newspaper Politico, which focuses primarily on politics, reported that the social media giant Facebook added Susan Zuck of Mason Street Consulting to its lobby group working on the legalization of the Libra cryptocurrency.
Zuck is a former assistant to Senator Mike Krapo (R-Idaho), chairman of the Senate banking committee, who held a hearing on Libra last month.
Facebook reportedly hired former Standard Chartered bank lobbyist Edward Bowles in June to work on community and regulatory issues related to the Libra project.
According to a Politico report, this year Facebook spent more than $ 7.5 million only on lobbying for its interests.
In addition to hiring domestic lobbyists, the company will work with more than a dozen third-party lobbying companies, including the Sternhell Group and Cypress Group.
