Hasbro, an American toy company, has agreed to purchase the Canadian television company Entertainment One, which has created the animated television series Sink Peppa. It is estimated that the transaction amount will be about $ 4 billion.
The transaction is expected to take place at the end of 2019, with owners of eOne shares receiving about $ 6.84 in cash per share. As a result of the transaction, Hasbro will be able to produce goods based on the animated series Peppa Pig, the rights to which belong to Entertainment One, TASS reports citing the company’s message.
“Hasbro’s increased presence in Canada will contribute to the influx of world-class cadres and our productive capacities,” said Darren Trup, Executive Director of Entertainment One.
Peppa Pig is one of the most popular projects produced by Canadian Entertainment One. The animated series is broadcast in more than 180 countries around the world and translated into 40 languages. Hasbro was founded in 1923 and is considered one of the largest toy and board games companies.
