Yesterday, the project Sharding Zilliqa (ZIL) announced the launch of the functionality of smart contracts. Now developers can write distributed applications in a safe, error-tolerant Scilla programming language.
According to President Zilliqa Amrit Kumar, today’s event is proof of Zilliqa’s ability to meet deadlines, as well as a sign of the expanding development of a more advanced blockchain.
“Today marks an important step forward in the implementation of innovations in the existing infrastructure of blockchains,” wrote Kumar. “Today,“ developers will be able to write and deploy smart contracts on the Zilliqa platform. ”
Zilliqa is a Singapore blockchain platform designed to use sharding for more efficient scaling. When ZIL was launched in January, Xinshu Dong, the CEO and co-founder, described it as the first successful sharding in history. The Scilla language, introduced in May 2018, allows developers to test contracts and scan them for errors or problems before they appear. It also separates the various operational components, such as communications and calculations, thus closing the loopholes for hackers that were used during the DAO and Parity hacks.
